Tech Nite '08 Awards

The Hampton Roads Technology Council welcomes your nominations for individuals and companies as candidates for the following awards to be presented at the Tech Nite '08 awards gala and dinner:

Hampton Roads High Tech Company Award         

This award recognizes outstanding commercial growth and achievement by an established company which produces and markets predominantly high technology-based products or services.  The company must have been in business no less than 5 years and have 50 or more employees.  The company shall be headquartered, or substantially based, in the Hampton Roads region.

High Tech Entrepreneur Award

This award honors an individual who has demonstrated outstanding entrepreneurial success in the development of a technology-based, commercial enterprise.  The individual shall have been instrumental in the key technology development, commercialization, and subsequent demonstrated marketing success of related products and services.  The entrepreneur's enterprise shall be headquartered, or substantially based, in the Hampton Roads region.  

Hampton Roads High Tech Leadership Award          

This award honors an individual or organization.  A nominee may be an individual inside a high tech organization whose personal leadership and efforts in the community have resulted in outstanding benefits to the region, or an individual outside a high tech organization whose personal leadership and example have resulted in outstanding, positive technology-related activity in Hampton Roads.  The individual shall be a resident of Hampton Roads.  A nominated organization must be a technology enterprise headquartered, or substantially based in the Hampton Roads region.  This recognition is for non-commercial accomplishment [for commercial accomplishment see High Tech  Company Award].

Hampton Roads High Tech Emerging Company Award          

This award recognizes outstanding commercial potential by an emerging company that produces and markets predominantly high technology-based products or services.  The company should have been in business no less than 1 year and have at least 1 full year of verifiable sales revenues.  The company shall be headquartered, or substantially based in the Hampton Roads region.

Excellence in Innovation in Hampton Roads        

This award recognizes US patents issued to Hampton Roads inventors in the calendar year 2006 that are deemed by a panel of experts to represent significant commercial potential and /or social benefit.  Recognition is given to the individual inventor or inventors, but nominations are accepted from any source, including patent assignees.

Hampton Roads Technology Incubator System Client Award          

This award, selected by HRTC's Executive Committee, recognizes one of its newest Incubator clients as a promising technology-focused business success story. The company must have substantially completed a business plan and built a capable team to see it through. They need to be a Level 2 client poised to generate revenue in their commercial endeavor within the next year.


IMPORTANT NOTE: Please be aware that only nominations that meet the minimum qualifications of the award will be considered.  Acceptance of a nomination is subject to review by the judges and their determination of compliance with the minimum criteria.
